Sunset view can never be as stunning as peeked from this very place. After sunset, you can play some light games like handball in sands. As darkness covers the clouds, desert starts becoming colder. Then walk back to the camps and feel the aura of traditional Rajasthani folk music. For approx 3-4 hours, folk music program is organized by the camps. You need not be the mere spectator of the event, but can join them in traditional dance performances. It is surely an eventful celebration that will bring you close to the Rajasthani culture. After the performance, have a delicious treat of Rajasthani dishes.
In the morning, wake up before the sun. Again go for a camel ride and know how marvellous and pleasant a sunrise can be. In the morning camel ride you can go a little far away in the gigantic desert of extended Thar. Older Indo-Pak border can be reached during this camel ride. You will see the marks and signs of army war between India and Pakistan. You can glace at Red stone of war and no man’s land. Best time to visit is winters, when its not too hot like from October to February.
How to reach Jaisalmer ?
By Air : A domestic airport is located just 5 km from the city but is mostly used for military purposes, other than the months of September to March when domestic passenger flights are also operational. Another nearest airport is located at Jodhpur which is conveniently connected with cities like Jaipur, Mumbai and Delhi.
By Rail : Jaisalmer Railway Station is located just 5 km out of the city. Regular trains. are available between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, a convenient overnight journey. Another option is to travel by the luxury Palace on Wheels for which we can get you advance bookings.
By Road : The bus stand at Jaisalmer is located just outside the railway station. State transport buses ply regularly between Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bikaner, Barmer, Mount Abu, Jalore etc
